Bio

A little bit about Mary A. Honerman . . .

I’m a writer, teacher, mother, and book lover. I have written two cozy mystery series: the Happy Camper series (Kensington Publishing Corp.) and the Professor Prather series (Camel Press). Currently, I write the Lady of Letters historical mystery series (Berkley Prime Crime and Severn House) under the name Mary Winters. My short stories have appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine and Black Cat Weekly. I have an MA in English from the University of South Dakota and will receive my MFA from the University of Nebraska Omaha in December of 2026.

I enjoy helping writers find their voice, and I also enjoying teaching the art of short story and novel writing. I’ve taught college English and humanities for over ten years and guest teach upon request. When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family. I’m married to my partner in crime and have two wonderful daughters.
